Audiovisual Systems Integration

Central Bank Money Museum – Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago

June 13, 2019

In this install, we did a bird call push-button system, an interactive touch screen systems with videos, a cashier simulation experience, and  a  small scale multimedia system.

For the bird call system, the client wanted an easy interactive system that would allow for a bird noise to be played every time the user pressed a button. While  the interactive touch screen system, the client required for the system to be able to play videos every time the user touches a particular part of the screen. The cashier experience required for the user to be able to cash various items and display the item prices and totals for three different periods. The multimedia room allowed for the user to play DVD and audio from a projector and allowed for wireless projection as well as a physical input for a pc.

The bird call systems and the interactive effectively used the same principle. They both used a robust signage device called the bright sign. These two exhibits were programmed and loaded on the bright signs and used external devices as inputs to the system. The cashier system used a  raspberry pi which produces the total and a barcode reader to scan the items. The multimedia room incorporated a projector and an audio control unit. These were all controlled by a smart controller and used a touch interface to control the volume and switch the inputs on the controller.
